ANTAR

What is Antar? +

A platform where you can connect with South Asian language-speaking online psychologists. You can find a specialist who can help you and get emotional support sessions in a safe space.

Will someone from countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh understand what I’m going through here in America? +

A lot of our psychologists have studied in the US and gone back home to practice. They understand what it means to have a bi-cultural identity and see a lot of non-resident folks in their practice. We also have US-based therapists if they might be a better fit for you!

Does this service replace in-person psychological therapy? +

The professionals on our platform have professional licenses from South Asian countries of origin or have studied here. However, although the service available on our platform may have similar benefits, it is not a traditional psychiatry, psychology, or therapy service with professionals licensed in the United States. Your provider will not be able to make any diagnosis, prescribe medications, and we do not accept health insurance at this time.

How do sessions with an online psychologist work? +

Sessions with our team of online psychologists are conducted remotely. With our platform you can filter and find psychologists specialized in different fields. After registering, you can schedule an appointment once we reach out to you. Once you have scheduled the appointment, you will receive an invitation to your email that will have a Google Meet link. The session is conducted through Meet at the agreed time by video call. You only need a good internet connection!

We use the Google Meets as a platform to conduct therapy. We recommend that you download the Zoom app on your computer and/or cell phone to have the call.
